About Clarify
Practical tools for the layout decisions that slow you down.
Every designer and developer knows the feeling: you're deep in a project, and suddenly you need to know the exact CSS viewport width of the latest iPhone. Or maybe you're trying to figure out if 1.25rem is 18px or 20px with your current base size.
These aren't hard problems. But hunting through Apple's Human Interface Guidelines or doing mental math interrupts your flow. You lose five minutes here, ten minutes there—and by the end of the week, you've burned hours on questions that should take seconds.
That's why Clarify exists. We built the calculators we wished we had: tools that do the conversion and show their work, so you can get back to actual design decisions.
What makes these tools different
Most online calculators give you a number and call it a day. Ours explain the math behind the result, because understanding why 393 CSS pixels matters more than just knowing the number.
- Real device data: We start from actual screen specifications, not theoretical breakpoints. When we say “iPhone 15 Pro viewport,” we mean it.
- Everything stays local: All calculations happen in your browser. We don't send your inputs anywhere.
- Shareable results: Copy a URL to send exact inputs to a teammate. No screenshots of calculator windows.
Who builds this
Clarify is maintained by a small team of designers and developers who ran into these same problems every week. We got tired of bookmarking five different sites and still not finding what we needed.
If you have a calculation you do all the time that we should add, we want to hear about it.
